History

The Dawn of An Era

It was a vision of Miss Mary Glasgow, the then Principal of the Bukit Bintang Girls School that led to the establishment of a new school in Petaling Jaya. Bukit Bintang Boys Secondary School has already been established at the wings of the Bukit Bintang Boys Primary School. A new site was needed, and Miss Glasgow and Mr MacGregor (the first principal of BB) found a suitable site at BB's present site at Jalan Utara.

In 1961, Bukit Bintang Boys Secondary School moved into its present site at Jalan Utara. The name of BB was actually coined by the Malay Mail who named the new school as the Brothers School of Bukit Bintang Girls School. Mr MacGregor became the first principal and led BB through its early days.

The Builder

1966 saw the arrival of Mr David Boler. Mr David Boler was responsible for the expansion of BB. Under him, BB became the premier boys school in Petaling Jaya. As more students entered BB, Mr Boler built more classrooms to accommodate the students. The field was also enlarged and Mr Boler was responsible for the creation of the new science block. The science block that consists of 7 laboratories and one AVA room was named Boler's Block in honour of his contribution.

The 'Complete' BBian

Mr Oh Kong Lum became the third principal of BB in 1978. Mr Oh stressed the importance of co-curricular activities on top of academic achievement to make the 'complete' BBian. With this aim, the Badminton Hall and the Squash Courts were built. Mr Oh's dream was not in vain as BBians rule the sports and maintained its high academic standard.
